I Post Music Every Day (Sometimes) - Update

Alastar Gabriel
refactoring and post-cohost hiatus

This is hopefully going to be a brief update. (it was not. lmao)

I am planning some major changes to I Post Music Every Day (Sometimes). A lot of it will require me individually modifying every post over there. Nothing too complicated, just adding tags and additional data for me to use mostly on my end, and eventually to get to gen up an "every post" / "search" page. I already have my design for it all figured out, I just have to sit down and make it.

The problem is that with this being a daily blog, the longer I wait to make it, the longer it'll take me to update it. So, I am taking full advantage of that "(Sometimes)" in the title and going on a brief hiatus on the 1st of October. It will be between two days and a week. I don't think it's a week worth of work, but I'm coming up on a big assignment for school, so that will probably occupy some of my time next week.

By the end of the update, there should be at least a page listing every single post there, along with some miscellaneous information about each one.

Why even add a search function

While doing this on Cohost, I realized it was getting cumbersome to double-check myself that I wasn't making duplicate posts. In my backlogs, I had three of the same song at one point, over the span of just one month.

For further context, there are currently 26 posts. I haven't even posted a full months worth, and I'm struggling to keep track of what I'm doing.

I am not opposed to duplicates. It's actually something I plan on doing at some point, along with other things like compilation posts. One of the big things about this blog is being deliberate about everything I do. Not just on I Post Music, but over here, I wanted to make sure that when I'm doing this, I'm sitting down and actually doing the things that I intended. (hence the "Sometimes" -- forcing yourself to do something you don't want to or have to is a good way to do it poorly just to "get it out of the way").

Of course, in the end, I'm overthinking a blog that's just me sharing some music I'm listening to. But I'm having fun overthinking it, and that's all that matters.

I should also mention, if it looks like I'm not consistently posting it on here, I promise I mostly am on Cohost, I've just kinda sacrificed getting the posts over here for some work on my site and getting them posted on Cohost since that's a bit more time-limited. I'm also working on automating embeds a bit more just to make it a little easier on me.
