Hi!! I'm Alastar Gabriel. I used to be a software developer. I went to school for game design, but these days I mostly do audio-related stuff. I'm most active on Mastodon, previously cohost, and this very blog :D

I am an extreme email enjoyer, so please email me if you please! Don't be afraid to send me comments, questions, pet pics, etc. if you want to. I may notreply depending on how busy I am, but I will definitely read it.

Right now, I'm working on this site's links page. If you (even vaguely) know me, and you have a cool site to show me, I'd love to give it a look. Or, if you don't know me, do it anyways.

I also finally finished up most of the stuff I've been doing over on I Post Music Every Day (Sometimes). Go check it out if you have the chance to :) I worked really hard on it, arguably harder than a lot of the stuff on the nicer-looking parts of the site lmao.

Some of the things I've done include...

• Adding pagination and a really nice navigation bar
• Making a shortcode for YouTube embeds so my embeds are a bit more consistent...
• Adding an archives page and generating a .csv of all the posts basic information. (The csv thing is mostly for my convenience and entertainment lmao)

I haven't added the stuff to display tags on the posts themselves, but it's a pretty simple thing to add (when I feel like doing it), and I did end up adding it to the csv. The nice thing about these changes is that I actually didn't have to go do any restructuring of the previous posts at all. If I wanted to, I could just... not add the additional tags ever lmao. But because I had the foresight to give all of them the cohost-archive tag, the untagged posts are going to be relatively easy to find if I ever did want to slowly go through them all.

I've also been really busy with school, so if it seems like my activity is slowing down significantly in the coming weeks, I'm not abandoning the site or anything, I'm just struggling with student life...
